VTCT NVQ Certificate in Beauty Therapy

Course Summary

The VTCT Level 1 NVQ Certificate in Beauty Therapy is a vocational qualification that will confirm learners competence as an assistant junior beauty therapist. This qualification is designed for learners aged 14-16 years or over and will support learners to gain employment as an assistant junior beauty therapist, as the units contained in this qualification cover all the skills and knowledge required for this role. Entry onto this qualification can be via previous attainment of an Entry level qualification in beauty therapy and/or a successful skills test or interview.

This qualification includes all the required elements to work effectively as an assistant junior beauty therapist including: preparing and maintaining the salon treatment work areas, effective working with clients and colleagues, taking responsibility for actions to reduce risks to health and safety.

Throughout this qualification learners will develop knowledge and understanding of the anatomy of the skin, health and safety, client care and beauty product knowledge. Learners will develop a range of technical assisting skills in beauty therapy services. Learners will also develop interpersonal skills that will assist them to communicate effectively with clients and when assisting with salon reception duties.
