VTCT Level 1 Award in Employability Skills

Course Summary

Delivered over 1-year (GLA 77) year 10 or 11, this course is for students looking to improve their chances of gaining employment. The course will ensure learners have the knowledge and skills to support them by overcoming barriers to entering work, particularly those relating to searching for jobs, applying for jobs, the interview process and safe learning environment. Throughout the course learners will develop the knowledge and skills to prepare for, undertake and review their own performance at an interview and outlining actions to improve performance at future interviews. Learners will also develop the skills to carry out risk assessments in the workplace.

  • Interview skills

  • Safe learning in the workplace

Progression

The employability skills developed in this qualification will prepare the learner to successfully gain employment in any sector including the service industries, engineering, and healthcare to name but a few.

Level 2 Award in Employment Awareness in the Hair and Beauty Sector

Course Summary

The Level 2 Award in Employment Awareness in the Hair and Beauty Sector is a vocationally related qualification that will develop learners knowledge and understanding of employment rights and responsibilities (ERR), the hair and beauty sector and the organisation in which they wish to work. This qualification has been tailored to complement vocational qualifications to prepare learners for a career in the hair and beauty sector and is aimed at year 10 and 11 and can be completed in one year (GLH 35)
